Knowledge, Experience & Understanding
Meet Jemma, a former Paediatric Nurse and OCN Level 6 Certified Paediatric Sleep Practitioner, passionate about empowering parents with knowledge and clarity.
Hi, I'm Jemma
Before becoming a paediatric sleep practitioner, I spent 15 years working as a paediatric nurse, caring for children and supporting families through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. From paediatric high dependency and intensive care to children's accident and emergency and allergy research, my career gave me a deep understanding of children's health, development, and the realities of family life when things feel overwhelming.
But it was becoming a mother that truly changed my perspective on sleep.
I'm a mother of two wonderfully unique daughters who have taught me more than any book ever could. My eldest arrived full of smiles and slept through the night from an early age. She gave me the confidence to believe I had this parenting thing figured out and that sleep was simply something that fell into place.

"Then my youngest came along with her own ideas entirely..."
She needed me through the night in a way her sister never had, relying on feeds and comfort that daytime simply couldn't replace.
Those months taught me something incredibly important: night waking during infancy isn't always a problem to be solved. It's often a baby communicating a genuine need. Some babies sleep through early, others don't, and both can be completely normal.
That experience shifted everything for me. I stopped measuring my parenting against someone else's timeline and started trusting what my daughter was telling me. It deepened my appreciation for responsive parenting and helped me understand first-hand the exhaustion, self-doubt, and emotional weight that can come with disrupted sleep.
Throughout my nursing career and my own journey into motherhood, one thing became very clear: when a child isn't sleeping well, the whole family feels it.

My own experiences, combined with my clinical background, led me to train as a paediatric sleep consultant. I am qualified at OCN Level 6 as a Certified Paediatric Sleep Practitioner and continue to invest in ongoing professional development to ensure my practice remains evidence-based, current, and grounded in best practice.
What I bring to families is a combination of professional knowledge, practical experience, and genuine empathy. In an industry that is largely unregulated, my nursing background allows me to understand child development, family wellbeing, and the wider factors that can influence sleep.
I now work exclusively as a sleep practitioner; my previous experience helps me take a holistic view of your child's wellbeing and recognise when further medical support may be needed.

"I believe that every family deserves sleep support that feels compassionate, practical, and tailored to their unique needs."
By taking the time to listen, understand your family's circumstances, and provide clear guidance, we can create a calm, structured approach that helps your child feel safe, secure, and supported.
Children thrive on predictability, consistency, and respectful boundaries. Together, we'll build routines that nurture healthy sleep habits while strengthening your child's sense of security and giving your family the confidence to move forward.
Every child is different, which is why there is no single solution that works for everyone.
Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I create personalised sleep plans that reflect your child's temperament, developmental stage, and your family's values and goals.

My approach is always responsive, evidence-based, and centred on connection. I believe it's possible to encourage healthy sleep while maintaining a warm, trusting relationship with your child and supporting you to parent in a way that feels right for your family.
Whether you're navigating frequent night wakings, bedtime battles, short naps, early mornings, or simply feeling exhausted and unsure where to turn next, I'm here to provide practical guidance, reassurance, and ongoing support so you can make lasting changes with confidence.
I look forward to supporting you and your family as you work towards calmer days, more restful nights, and a happier, healthier relationship with sleep.
